Gísella Dal lives a perfect life. She lives in a large apartment, is a regular at the finest beauty salons, drinks fine wine and eats exotic food, in between writing the occasional article for a magazine, mainly for fun. But one day, Gisella receives the news that her grandmother’s legacy is exhausted and that she may have to sacrifice her lifestyle and start working to support herself. So she decides to get tenants…

Deposit describes the cohabitation of four women in a city full of people, natives and newcomers. This is a poignant and tear-jerking story where different worlds are tossed together and questions are posed about values, attitudes – and illusions.

Deposit was nominated for the Icelandic Literature Prize.
