Frederic is on a fishing trip with, among others, his uncle and National Crime Agency investigator, Skarphedin Olsen, when the latter’s fly-fishing rod is shot to pieces. The amputated  arm of a woman and a sheep’s heart are found on a stone plinth. Wolves howl, shots are fired and quickly the aim of the trip shifts to something quite different to catching a few trout.
